Gilene Named NCAC Player Of The Week

For her part in a big weekend for the Wittenberg volleyball team, including an upset of top-ranked Christopher Newport, Christina Gilene has been named the NCAC Volleyball Player of the Week.

Wittenberg senior Christina Gilene (Milford, Ohio/McNicholas) was named the Juniata College Asics Invitational Most Valuable Player for her contributions to the Tigers' weekend, which included an upset of top-ranked Christopher Newport in a re-match of the 2011 National Championship match. Gilene, who also helped guide the Tigers in wins over No. 9 Juniata and No. 16 Puget Sound, logged 71 digs (5.46/set) and only three reception errors in 91 chances (.967).
