In honor of his excellence on the field and in the classroom, Daniel Broidy capped his collegiate career with Honorable Mention All-East Region College Scholar honors.
Springfield, Ohio — Just a few weeks after Wittenberg University men’s soccer standout Daniel Broidy (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) completed the coursework for his degree in business from Wittenberg University, he earned one final award for his performance on the soccer pitch for the Tigers.
Broidy was recently named an Honorable Mention All-East Region College Scholar by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), in recognition of his tremendous performance on the field and in the classroom during his collegiate career. The award comes on the heels of third-team All-Ohio and third-team Academic All-Ohio honors, in addition to honorable mention All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) recognition.
Broidy also earned honorable mention All-East Region College Scholar in 2011, and he earned third-team CoSIDA Academic All-America College Division All-District IV honors in 2010.
While splitting his time between midfielder and forward, Broidy tallied team-highs of six goals, including the game-winner against Mount Union on Sept. 2, and five assists in 2012. His 17 total points, six goals and five assists were all good for eighth in the NCAC.
For his career, Broidy posted totals of eight goals and six assists as he played numerous positions and battled injuries that limited him to 66 games in five seasons (medical red-shirt in 2009). He served as a team captain during the 2010, 2011 and 2012 seasons.
Broidy was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, Phi Eta Sigma honor society and Tau Pi Phi business honorary during his undergraduate career, and he served as president of the Jewish Culture Club. He plans to enroll in law school at The Ohio State University.
