Wittenberg Football Lands Two on All-North Region Team
Punter Will Gingery and defensive-tackle Josh Bannick were selected to the All-North Region Team in 2015.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.—Wittenberg football landed two players on the 2015 All-North Region Team, picked by D3football.com.
Punter Will Gingery (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) made second team defense, while defensive-tackle Josh Bannick (Enon, Ohio/Greenon) made third team defense.
Gingery averaged 42.3 yards-per-punt in 2015, while pinning the opposition inside the 20 yard-line on 15 separate occasions. The junior also recorded the longest punt of his career, 69 yards, on his way to earning First Team All-NCAC honors.
Bannick concluded his Wittenberg Football career with 53 total tackles in 2015, including three and a half sacks and two forced-fumbles. The three-time First Team All-NCAC lineman finishes his Wittenberg career with 198 total tackles, nine and a half sacks, and five forced-fumbles.
The Tigers finished 8-2 in 2015, finishing 7-2 in NCAC play and a perfect 5-0 at home.
The teams, selected in balloting by North Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 228 nominations by Division III member schools. A total of 76 players were chosen.
Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced the evening of Dec. 18, in D3football.com's pregame coverage for Stagg Bowl XLIII.
