Wittenberg University Volleyball Earns 11th Team Academic Award
Wittenberg University's volleyball team was one of a record 481 high school and college programs to earn a 2010-11 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, annually honors men's and women's college and high school teams that display excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale during the school year.

As the Wittenberg men's soccer team puts the finishing touches on the spring "non-traditional" portion of its annual schedule, Head Coach Steve Dawson is already preparing for a summer training trip to his native England. The first step is raising money for trip, which is scheduled Aug. 5-15. To offset some of the costs, the team is hosting a fund-raiser golf outing on Friday, June 3.

One Year Later, Dillon Hollin Named Top Division III Football Center For 2009
It was a terrific run to the national quarterfinals for the 2009 Wittenberg football team, and Dillon Hollin, class of 2010, remembers it fondly. Now living in Memphis, Tenn., and training for a corporate sales position, Hollin got a big surprise during Thanksgiving weekend 2010 - a call from his former coach, Joe Fincham, to tell him that he had recently been selected winner of the 2009 Rimington Award, given to the top center in NCAA Division III.

Wittenberg Football Earns 14th NCAA Division III Tournament Berth
The seventh-ranked Wittenberg University football team has been selected to compete in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the 14th time in school history. The Tigers open their quest for the third national title since the start of the tournament in 1973 with a first round game at Ohio Northern University at noon, Saturday, Nov. 20, in Ada, Ohio.

An annual national title contender, the Wittenberg University volleyball team embarks on its 15th straight NCAA Division III Tournament odyssey (16th overall) with sights set on the ultimate prize. It is a trophy made of walnut and bronze and handed out once each year by the NCAA, but the privilege of playing for the Tigers far exceeds the coveted prize.

Wittenberg Volleyball Earns 16th NCAA Division III Tournament Berth
The No. 2-ranked Wittenberg University volleyball team has been selected to compete in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the 15th consecutive year and the 16th time in school history. The Tigers open their quest for the first national title in program history with a first-round match at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at home in Pam Evans Smith Arena against Ohio Northern University.

With a reputation as a perennial national title contender burnished by 15 straight NCAA Division III Tournament appearances, the Wittenberg Tigers have once again earned the respect of voters in the 2010 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) preseason poll. Wittenberg, which ranks seventh in NCAA Division III history with 143 appearances in the weekly poll since its inception in 1992, will start the 2010 campaign ranked No. 11.

Wittenberg University Volleyball Earns 10th Team Academic Award
Wittenberg University's volleyball team was one of a record 450 high school and college programs to earn a 2009-10 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, annually honors men's and women's college and high school teams that display excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale during the school year.

Wittenberg Volleyball Team Prepares For Educational Trip To Spain
Wittenberg University's volleyball team annually travels the country in search of the best competition, a practice that has contributed to 14 straight NCAA Division III Tournament berths.
