Wittenberg Assistant Director of Athletics Communications John Strawn

Bio

John oversees press box operations, athletics publications, and many of the day-to-day functions of the Athletics Communications office. In 2011, John headed up the effort to launch WittenbergTigers.com, the school's first standalone athletics website.

John serves as an advisor and on-site supervisor to the Integrated Media Corps, a unique internship designed for students preparing to enter the field of multimedia production, operated via collaboration between the university's academic Department of Communications and administrative Office of University Communications. The interns serve as the production staff for most of the content on the Tiger Sports Network.

A 2007 graduate of Wittenberg, John earned a B.S. in biology with a minor in music. He was named Sports Information Assistant at Wittenberg in 2007-08, before spending a year at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette studying public relations as a graduate assistant in sports information, working specifically as the primary contact for the Ragin' Cajuns volleyball and baseball teams. John returned to the Wittenberg staff in 2009 before being named the school's first full-time Assistant Director of Athletics Communications in 2010 and promoted to associate director in 2012.

John left Wittenberg in May 2015.
