| AVCA Women's Volleyball All-Region Awards 2025 |
Wittenberg Women's Volleyball standouts Mary Sulfridge (South Charleston, OH / Southeastern) and Clare O'Malley (Avon, OH / St. Joseph's Academy) have earned All-Region 7 honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Sulfridge is a first-team selection, while O'Malley is an honorable mention selection.
There are 14 all-region team members and six honorable mention selections for each of the 10 administrative regions across NCAA Division III. The all-region awards are the first for either Sulfridge or O'Malley in their collegiate careers. They become the 42nd and 43rd Wittenberg Women's Volleyball student-athletes to earn all-region recognition, going back to Beth Green in 1993.
Sulfridge, a sophomore setter, and O'Malley, a sophomore middle blocker, previously earned postseason honors from the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). Sulfridge is the 2025 NCAC Setter of the Year, in addition to being a first-team selection, and for a second year in a row, O'Malley was named to second-team All-NCAC. She also earned NCAC Newcomer of the Year in 2024.
In the regular season, Sulfridge played in 27 matches, covering 98 sets. She totaled 907 assists to not only lead the team, but the NCAC as well. She logged 62 kills and 24 service aces while recording 216 digs to rank fourth on the team. Sulfridge, Wittenberg's 21st NCAC Player of the Year award-winner, also notched 46 total blocks. She was the first Tiger to win Setter of the Year after the award was introduced in 2024.
O'Malley played in 27 matches and 99 sets during the 2025 regular season, and she finished second on the team in kills with 206. O'Malley added 70 total blocks to lead the team, and she ranked second with 261 points on the season.
The Tigers finished 20-7 overall in the 2025 regular season, including a mark of 7-0 in the NCAC to win the regular season title without dropping a single set. As the No. 1 seed in the NCAC Tournament, the Tigers swept Denison in the semifinals and John Carroll in the championship match to win the title and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament. In the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, the Tigers defeated Ohio Athletic Conference champion Otterbein, 3-1.
