Mary Sulfridge Named Honorable Mention All-America

Wittenberg Women's Volleyball sophomore setter Mary Sulfridge (South Charleston, OH / Southeastern) has earned Honorable Mention All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
There are 42 student-athletes from 27 different schools named to first-team, second-team, and third-team All-Americans, and another 98 players from across the country have earned honorable mention recognition. The All-America award is the first of Sulfridge's collegiate career, and she becomes the 32nd player in Wittenberg Women's Volleyball history to garner All-America status, dating back to Kim Woodring in 1995.
Previously, Sulfridge earned her first all-region award from the AVCA. A total of 43 Wittenberg Women's Volleyball student-athletes have earned all-region recognition, going back to Beth Green in 1993. Sulfridge also was named the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Setter of the Year and Player of Year, in addition to being a first-team selection.
Sulfridge started all 29 matches for Wittenberg in the 2025 season, covering 106 sets. She totaled 994 assists to not only lead the team, but the NCAC as well. She logged 66 kills and 25 service aces while also recording 234 digs and 50 blocks. Sulfridge is Wittenberg's 21st NCAC Player of the Year award-winner, and she is the first Tiger to win Setter of the Year after the award was introduced in 2024.
The Tigers finished 21-8 overall in the 2025 season, including a mark of 7-0 in the NCAC to win the regular season title without dropping a single set. As the No. 1 seed in the NCAC Tournament, the Tigers swept Denison in the semifinals and John Carroll in the championship match to win the title and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament. In the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, the Tigers defeated Ohio Athletic Conference champion Otterbein, 3-1, before losing to fourth-ranked Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the second round.
