Tigers Run Away with First at Wooster Invitational
Wooster, OH - Wittenberg Women's Track and Field competed in the Wooster Invitational, where they took on Kenyon, Wooster and Ashland, and the Tigers took care of business in their first meet of calendar year 2026 with an impressive first-place finish. The Tigers took first place as a team with 121 points, ahead of Kenyon with 65, Wooster with 54, and a limited Ashland squad that finished with three. Wittenberg ran away with first place, taking the top spot in nine of the 14 events.
Tymeerah De'Armond (Springfield, OH / Springfield) started off the winning for the Tigers, taking first in the 200 meters with a time of 27.18. In the 800 meters, Abbey Danne (Johnstown, OH / Big Walnut) took the crown in 2:27.31. Tyra Jackson (Lorain, OH / Lorain) added another top finish as she completed the 60-meter hurdles in 9.92. The 4x200-meter relay team of My'Ana Yancey (Canal Winchester, OH / Groveport-Madison), Jenna Delp (Canton, OH / GlenOak), Morgan Hunter (Rockford, OH / Parkway) and Danne were first across the line in 1:47.97. In the 4x400-meter relay, Bethany Allen (Greenup, KY / Russell), Brittyn Snedaker (Gallipolis, OH / Gallia Academy), Aly Kolonchuk (Canal Winchester, OH / Canal Winchester) and De'Armond took the top spot in 4:25.44.
The Tigers swept the jumps as well, beginning with Cayla Eaton (North Lewisburg, OH / Triad) with a high jump of 1.51 meters. In the pole vault, Rebekah Case (Mansfield, OH / Lucas) took first with 3.30 meters to set a new collegiate best. Jackson earned the top spot in the long jump with a leap of 4.88 meters, and Kerrington Harper (Mason, OH / Mason) took the top spot in the triple jump at 10.58 meters.
Top Three Finishes
- Yancey was second in the 60 meters in 8.14, her new personal best.
- Hunter was third in the 60 meters with a time of 8.22.
- Kolonchuk took third in the 800 meters in 2:31.87.
- Svetlana Daniels (London, OH / Madison Plains) took third and set a personal best in the mile with a time of 5:45.73.
- Allen was second in the 60-meter hurdles in 11.55.
- Maddie Doerman (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) finished second in the high jump at 1.40 meters.
- Hallie Haines (Hillsboro, OH / Fairfield) took third in the high jump, leaping 1.35 meters.
- Tiffany Hix (Prospect, OH / Elgin) pole vaulted 2.85 meters for second place.
- Delp took second in the long jump at 4.79 meters.
- Eaton jumped 4.62 meters for third in the long jump.
- Allen was second in the triple jump with a distance of 9.58 meters.
- Lexi Coolbaugh (Shreve, OH / Triway) was second in the shot put at 10.77 meters for a personal best and set another with 11.44 meters in the weight throw.
- Atalya Mason-Pentheny (Dayton, OH / Stivers) took third in the weight throw with her personal best of 12.48 meters.
