Weiss, Williams named All-America in Outdoor Track and Field by USTFCCCA

SPRINGFIELD — Wittenberg juniors Taylor Weiss (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) and Julissa Williams (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain) earned NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field All-America honors in the high jump from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Weiss earned First Team All-America recognition, and Williams was a Second Team honoree.
Student-athletes of member institutions who finished in the top eight of their respective individual events and as part of a relay team at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships earned First Team All-America honors. Those who finished ninth through 16th individually and ninth through 12th as part of a relay team were named Second Team All-America.
Weiss tied for seventh in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.68 meters on her second attempt. Williams placed 11th after clearing 1.68 meters on her third attempt.
The Wittenberg women's track and field team now has three outdoor high jump All-Americans in program history, as Weiss and Williams joined Sheila Simon, who was a two-time All-American in the event in 1982 and 1983.
Weiss, a four-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference performer, posted a season-best mark of 1.70 meters in the high jump during the 2024 outdoor season. She qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in the high jump in March, finishing tied for 15th.
Williams is a three-time NCAA Championships qualifier in the high jump and holds the school record in the indoor high jump at 1.70 meters. She swept the indoor and outdoor conference titles in the high jump in 2024 and is a four-time All-NCAC performer. After finishing 15th and 19th, respectively, at the NCAA Indoor Championships in 2023 and 2024, Williams entered the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships with a season-best mark of 1.69 meters in the high jump.
Under head coach Paris Hilliard, the Wittenberg women's track and field team swept the conference titles in the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2024 and had three national qualifiers during each season. The Tigers finished the year with a combined 18 All-Region accolades among 11 athletes in the indoor and outdoor seasons along with conference titles in six individual events and two relays. Hilliard and his staff were named NCAC Women's Track and Field Coaching Staff of the Year for both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
