Alumna Sheila Simon Named To WNBA Honorary Title IX Team

Sheila Simon broke new ground during her collegiate career as a student-athlete. Her achievements, both as an All-American high jumper and as a lawyer who has risen to the position of Lt. Governor of the state of Illinois, are being celebrated by the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) throughout the 2012 season.

Tigers Tune Up For NCAC Outdoor Championship Meet At Denison

Wittenberg's men's and women's track and field teams participated in a final tune-up for the 2012 NCAC Championship meet at the Denison Invitational. The meet did not record team scores. Also during the final weekend of the regular season, Ohio Wesleyan hosted the NCAC decathlon and heptathlon events.

WILMINGTON, Ohio — Wittenberg's men's and women's track and field teams turned in a fine performance at the Wilmington Invitational, taking fourth place and first place, respectively, in matching seven-team fields.

Tigers Compete Well At Annual All-Ohio Championships

Competing on a wet, windy, cool day, the Wittenberg men's and women's track and field teams performed admirably at the All-Ohio Outdoor Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. The Tiger women placed 12th out of 20 teams, while the men finished 16th in a 21-team field.

The Wittenberg track and field teams hosted their first home meet in four years Saturday and captured some solid performances in a meet that also featured Kentucky State, Otterbein, Capital and Wilmington.

Tigers Finish Strong At Cedarville Invitational

The final day of March offered a mixed bag from Mother Nature, but the Wittenberg men's and women's track and field teams performed quite well at the Cedarville Invitational. The Tiger men, in particular, enjoyed success on a cool, overcast, damp day, finishing third in a 12-team field. Wittenberg's women placed seventh out of 15 teams.

The Wittenberg men's and women's track and field teams opened the outdoor portion of the 2012 season with a pair of strong performances at the Emory Invitational. The men placed ninth in the 14-team field with 39 points. The women placed eighth with an identical point total.
