Tiger Tennis Teams Fall to Indiana-East
SPRINGFIELD, OH. – Wittenberg's men's and women's tennis teams wrapped up their fall season on Monday, Oct. 6, with a home match against Indiana-East at the Albright Tennis Complex.
This was the only match of the fall for the men and after a hard-fought battle, the Tigers fell 6-1. With only four players available, Wittenberg had to forfeit third doubles and the fifth and sixth singles courts.
Bright spots for the Tigers included a win at second doubles with Daniel Patel (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler Area) and Benjamin Glassman (Woodbridge, CT / Amity Regional) posting a 7-5 victory. Patel also won his singles match on court three by scores of 6-3, 2-6, and 11-9 in a super-tiebreaker.
On the women's side, the Tigers fielded a team of four and played an abbreviated five-point format match. Indiana-East came out the 5-0 decision. Wittenberg's women finish the fall season at 0-3 after losing to both Franklin and Capital in September.

Men's Results:
- Court 1: Christian Droz (Brunswick, OH / Brunswick) lost 6-1, 6-0
- Court 2: Sam Garay (Oakwood, OH / Oakwood) lost 6-1, 6-3
- Court 3: Daniel Patel (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler Area) won 6-3, 2-6, and 11-9 in the tiebreaker
- Court 4: Benjamin Glassman (Woodbridge, CT / Amity Regional) lost 6-1, 6-3
- Court 5: forfeit
- Court 6: forfeit
- Doubles: Droz and Garay lost 6-3 and Patel and Glassman won 7-5, but Witt had to forfeit third doubles giving Indiana-East the doubles point.
Women's Results:
- Court 1: Celeste Hartings (Tipp City, OH / Tippecanoe)lost 6-0, 6-2
- Court 2: Marin Summers (Columbus, OH / Hilliard Davison) lost 6-0, 6-2
- Court 3: Elisabeth Josellis (Warsaw, IN / Warsaw Community) lost 6-2, 6-2
- Court 4: Grace Tyler (Christiansburg, OH / St. Paris Graham) lost 6-0, 6-0
- Doubles – Hartings and Summers lost their doubles match, 6-0.
