SPRINGFIELD — Wittenberg junior Caroline Sproule (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 19-25.
This marks Sproule's second career NCAC Player of the Week accolade, as she also earned the honor once as a sophomore last season.
The latest recognition comes after she went a perfect 4-0 to lead Wittenberg to 8-1 wins over Baldwin Wallace and Lourdes to improve to 5-0 on the season.
She won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles with freshman Kylie Wilson (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) and 4-6, 5-1 (retire) at No. 1 singles against Baldwin Wallace on Saturday and followed that up with an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles with Wilson and a 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles against Lourdes on Sunday.
An All-NCAC Second Team selection last season, Sproule is 8-2 overall this season with matching 4-1 marks in singles and doubles play.
The Tigers return to action on Friday hosting Hanover.
