DELAWARE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers had to wait a day and move inside to open North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) West Division action before falling on the road to Ohio Wesleyan.
The loss dropped Wittenberg to 4-12 on the season and 0-1 in the NCAC West.
The match was originally scheduled to be played at Wittenberg, but unseasonably cold temperatures on Tuesday, April 5, forced the teams indoors. After originally planning to play alongside the men's match at Dayton Center Courts, the match was shifted to Ohio Wesleyan's Gordon Field House a day later.
The Battling Bishops took a pair of 8-0 decisions in the doubles competition, but the Tiger freshman team of Sarah Frisch (Crescent Springs, Ky./Notre Dame) and Carli Milano (Beavercreek, Ohio/Carroll) answered at the No. 2 position with an 8-4 victory.
OWU completed the 8-1 victory with a singles sweep. Milano competed best for the Tigers as she stretched the first set of her match at the No. 2 position to a tiebreaker before losing in straight sets.
