Regular Season Wraps Up With Four Match Streak
The Wittenberg women's tennis team defeated visiting Ohio Wesleyan, 6-3.
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg women's tennis team defeated visiting Ohio Wesleyan, 6-3. The win put a strong finish on regular season play with a record of 2-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) West Division.
The win broke a tie between the Tigers and Battling Bishops for second place in the NCAC West. The Tigers finished their regular season with a record of 13-4.
Tigers going 2-0 on the day were senior Allison Earhart (Muncie, Ind./Yorktown), sophomore Jayne Miely (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) and freshman Jackie Stevens (Columbus, Ohio/Watterson). The No. 2 doubles pair of Earhart and freshman Maggie Stewart (Bay Village, Ohio/Magnificat) finished regular season play with an impressive 10-2 record.
The Tigers will head to Kenyon College on Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26, for the NCAC Tournament, where they look to continue success. The quarterfinals kick off on Saturday before semifinal and final action on Sunday.
