Wittenberg Plays Well in Loss To Nationally-Ranked Denison
Wittenberg saw their tremendous eight match winning streak come to an end against Denison in a 7-2 loss, but put up a strong showing in the loss.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Wittenberg saw their tremendous eight match winning streak come to an end against Denison in a 7-2 loss, but put up a strong showing in the loss. A pair of matches went to a tiebreak and the Tigers came within a few points of making a run at the fifth-ranked Big Red.
Freshman Alex Cummins (New Lebanon, Ohio/Dixie) rallied from a set down to top her sixth-flight opponent in the the tiebreak, 3-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10-9). Kat Sundstrom (Trafalgar, Ind./North Central) nearly accomplished the same feat, but fell in her fourth tier match in the third set.
The Tigers got off to an encouraging start, hanging tough in all three doubles affairs, while Jackie Stevens (Columbus, Ohio/Watterson) and Jayne Miely (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) took the third flight match 8-6.
Wittenberg falls to 9-4 on the season and 0-1 in NCAC play as they get set for a Sunday, April 5 meeting with Capital University at 1 p.m.
