Day Three of NCAC Championships Headlined by Multiple Top 10 Finishes
Granville, OH - After another long day of competition at Denison for Day 3 of the 2026 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships, Wittenberg's women are in seventh place, while the men are in ninth. On the women's side, Kenyon leads with an even 1,300 points, followed by Denison with 1,153, and DePauw is in third with 890.5. Denison leads the men's competition with 1,352.5 points, Kenyon holds second place with 1193.5, followed by John Carroll with 805.5.
Day 3 for the Tigers was highlighted by two impressive top-10 finishes in the women's competition. Shania Stone (Cincinnati, OH / Princeton) took eighth while swimming in the ultra-competitive A final of the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.55, earning 25 points toward the team total. In the women's 100-yard butterfly, Teagan O'Connor (Fort Wayne, IN / Carroll) finished 10th overall after touching the wall first in the B final with a time of 57.99 seconds to add 22 points to the women's total.
Elsewhere, Jade Paumi (Lexington, KY / Lafayette) added 13 points with a top-20 finish in the women's 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:03.63, besting her prelim time by almost five seconds. McKenna Clark (Waynesville, OH / Carroll) and Elisabeth Josellis (Warsaw, IN / Warsaw Community) finished 25th and 26th in the 200-yard freestyle to gain more points with times of 2:05.38 and 2:05.89, respectively.
The first men's athlete to put points on the board for Wittenberg on Day 3 was Mason Steen (Leroy, OH / Riverside), who earned 10 points with a time of 1:01.71 in the 100-yard breaststroke to place 19th. Not only did Stone finish well in the 100-yard breaststroke, but Annie Gammon (Cincinnati, OH / Cincinnati Country Day) took 16th in the event in a time of 1:11.98 and Krenna Rahr (Monongahela, PA / Ringgold) clocked a 1:27.24 to improve on her prelim time and finish in 26th place. Lilly Cook (Rensselaer, IN / Rensselaer Central) added a top-20 finish in the women's 100-yard backstroke as she took 18th with a time of 1:03.13. In the final event of the day, the women's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Clark, Cook, Stone and Bekah Lebold (Mount Vernon, OH / Mount Vernon) added 58 points with an impressive fourth-place finish in 1:40.58, improving their seed time by over a second.
The NCAC Championships end tomorrow, Saturday, February 13th, with prelims beginning at 9:30 AM and finals starting a 6:00 PM.
