Women's Swimming and Diving Splits Double Dual Meet at Wilmington
Wilmington, OH - Wittenberg's women's swimming and diving team traveled to Wilmington for a double dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 1. The Tigers picked up their second win of the season, defeating Wilmington, 174-50, but they came up short against Transylvania, falling 135-110.
The Tigers captured six first-place finishes and seven second-place finishes throughout the day.
McKenna Clark (Waynesville, OH / Carroll) notched the first of the Wittenberg first-place finishes in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:25.13. The next top finish came from Sophie Paskiet (Toledo, OH / St. Ursula) with a time of 1:18.01 in the 100-meter breaststroke. Clark took home her second first-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle as her time of 5:08.73 beat out the second-place finisher by 15 seconds. Teagan O'Connor (Fort Wayne, IN / Carroll) put up a time of 1:08.60 in the 100-meter butterfly to take first. Paskiet took first in the 200-meter IM in a time of 2:34.81 for her second win of the day. In the 400-meter freestyle relay, the team of Clark, Paskiet, Shania Stone (Cincinnati, OH / Princeton) and Allison Browning (Hillsboro, OH / Hillsboro) had a time of 4:27.89 for their final first-place finish of the day.
Posting second-place finishes were the 400-meter medley relay team of Stone, Paskiet, Clark and Lilly Cook (Rensselaer, IN / Rensselaer Central) in a time of 4:50.87, Elisabeth Josellis (Warsaw, IN / Warsaw Community) in the 800-meter freestyle in a time of 11:16.15, Cook in the 100-meter backstroke in a time of 1:15.68 and in the 200-meter backstroke in a time of 2:42.38, Stone in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 28.98, as well as Annie Gammon (Cincinnati, OH / Cincinnati Country Day) finishing the 200-meter breaststroke in 3:06.97.
Next up, the Tigers will next compete in another double dual meet at Bluffton against Anderson and the host Beavers at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.
