Tiger Defense Shines in Draw to Hold Steady in NCAC Standings
Granville, OH - The Tigers went to Denison to take on the Big Red in hopes of staying in contention for a berth in the four-team North Coast Athletic (NCAC) Tournament. Despite a big second half from the Big Red, specifically in shots, the Wittenberg defense and goalkeeper Lily Winkle (Cynthiana, KY / Harrison County) made key stops in order to come away with a scoreless tie.
After the draw, the Tigers move to 6-2-7 (2-1-3 NCAC) and stay in a tie for third place in the conference with nine points. Denison is now 6-4-5 overall and 1-1-3 NCAC to currently sets in fifth place in the conference standings with six points.
In the first half, the teams were evenly matched as Alex Hill (Powell, OH / Olentangy Liberty) led the attack for the Tigers with three of their six shots. Denison had seven shots of their own, but neither team was able to find the back of the net to head into halftime scoreless. In the second half, Wittenberg had to defend multiple attacks put together by the Big Red but held firm and kept them off the board, while Denison's defense matched the Tigers to end the game scoreless.

- Hill led the Tigers in shots with five total, two of which came on goal, while Leah Rocchetta (Fairfield, OH / Fairfield) put one on frame as well.
- In goal for the Tigers, Winkle saved all 12 shots on goal throughout the entire 90 minutes.
