Four-Goal Outburst Helps Tigers Open NCAC With Win At Oberlin
Oberlin, OH - Wittenberg Women's Soccer traveled to Oberlin to take on the Yeowomen in the second North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) game on the 2025 schedule, looking to open the league schedule on the right note. In a match where the Tigers came out with their foot on the gas, they got the lead early and never looked back, walking away with a 4-1 win.
With the win, Wittenberg improves to 5-1-4 (1-0-0 NCAC) while Oberlin fell to 3-5-3 (0-1-0 NCAC).
Only two minutes into the game Sarah Deaton (Monroe, OH / Monroe) ripped a shot into the back of the net off of an assist from Alex Hill (Powell, OH / Olentangy Liberty) to start the scoring. Deaton scored her seventh goal of the season in the 32nd minute as she was assisted by Caroline Thomas (Perrysburg, OH / Perrysburg) to increase the lead to 2-0 at halftime.
Twenty-two minutes into the second half, Deaton completed her hat trick to put the Tigers up 3-0. Reagan Williams (Lebanon, OH / Lebanon) tacked on a fourth goal after a pass from Leah Rocchetta (Fairfield, OH / Fairfield) found her foot. Oberlin matched the Tigers' last goal to round out the scoring in the game.

Next Up
The Tigers will take on DePauw, the defending NCAC Tournament champion, on Wednesday, October 8, at Edwards-Maurer Field to mark their home conference opener. Wittenberg will bring an eight-game unbeaten streak into that game.
