Wittenberg Women's Soccer Announces 2021 Recruiting Class

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Women's Soccer team has announced their 2021 recruiting class and welcome 8 new players to the Red and White.

Morgan Bush, a Cincinnati native graduates from Ursuline Academy as a member of the National Honors Society and Latin Honor Society while maintaining over a 4.5 GPA all four years. On the field Morgan was a three-year letter winner.

Morgan plays club soccer for CUSA and helped her team with the League Championship in 2019 after being their leading scorer. She currently leads her team in Assists.

Morgan is the daughter of Chris and Stacy Bush and has a brother, Dylan.

Brooke Mullis, a Lawrenceburg Indiana native graduates this year from Taylor High School as a Scholar Award, a CHL Scholar Award and High Honors Academic Award winner. In her Senior year she earned the Honors Diploma Award and the President's Education Award at Taylor High School. On the field Mullis was named CHL First Team, received a CHL All-Star Award, All Southwest Ohio, Team MVP, Best Defensive Player and received the Black and Gold Award. She was also named as an Enquirer First Team All-Star.

Brooke is a defender for Warren County Elite where she was selected as the Best XI in US Youth Soccer Great Lakes Conference. Her Warren County Elite 03 Team were State Cup Champions, MRL Champions, OSSL Champions, National Showcase Finalist and are currently in the Top 30 in the Nation.

Brooke is the daughter of Steffanie Weil.

Abby Sphar from Lebanon High School has been on the Honor Roll each of her 4 years and received the Harmon Civic Award three times. On the field for Lebanon Abby helped her team earn 2 GWOC Championships.

Abby is a defender for Warren County and helped lead her team to a 2019 State Championship.

Abby is the daughter of Kevin and Julie Sphar and has a sister, Ellie.

Mackenzie Hessick from Hilliard, Ohio will graduate ranked third in her class at Hilliard Darby High School. Mackenzie received Summa Cum Laude Honors all four years and was awarded Spectrum News' Friday Nite Lights Scholar Athlete in 2020. She was also named OCC Scholar Athlete and Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association's Academic Excellence Award in 2020. On the field as a two-year Captain, she was named OCC Second Team, Special Mention and Senior All-Star.

Mackenzie is a midfielder for Ohio Premier where she is a member of the ECNL Team. Prior to joining the ECNL team she played for Coach Robinson on the OP NPL team, leading her team to both State Cup and Regional Titles before advancing to the US Club Nationals in 2019.

Mackenzie is the daughter of Rob and Julie Hessick and has two siblings, Brother Ethan and Sister Clara.

Sophia Grossman from Dayton, Ohio will graduate from Fairmont High School as a Scholar-Athlete earning her Honors Diploma and maintaining a 3.8 or above during her high school career. On the field for Fairmont Sophia was the Team MVP, a two-year Team Captain, and a 2-Time First Team All GWOC selection as well as a First Team All-District Selection.

Sophia is a defender and plays club soccer for Ohio Galaxies Elite where her team won a State Cup Championship in 2019.

Sophia is the daughter of Mikal and Julie Grossman and has two sisters: Sarah and Madeline.

Hannah Heald, from Powell Ohio and Olentangy Orange High School joins the Tigers as a four time Awarded Scholar Athlete and member of the National Honors Society. On the field Hannah was awarded Team Most Valuable Forward, was the leading Goal scorer her Senior year and earned OCC Special Mention accolades. In 2019 her Team won a District Championship and a trip to the Regional Finals.

Hannah is a forward for Ohio Premier and is a member of the ECNL Team. Prior to joining the ECNL team she played for Coach Robinson and with fellow 2021 class member Mackenzie Hessick on the 2003 NPL Team and went on to win State and Regional Championships punching them a ticket to US Club Nationals in 2019.

Hannah is the daughter of Nick and Brandi Heald and Sanna and Davey Stone and has siblings, Wyatt, Alexandra and Jackson.

Lindsey Magoteaux, from Sidney Ohio and Lehman Catholic High School graduates as a member of the National Honors Society, an All-Ohio Academic Award recipient, and First Honors recipient.

On the field Lindsey helped lead her team to a Conference Champion, three District Championships and an appearance in the Regional Finals. She was awarded Team MVP and holds the school record for most goals in a season, goals in a game and assists in a game. She was named First Team All-Conference, First Team All-District, First Team All-State and First Team All-Region Central.

Lindsey is the daughter of Ken (Wittenberg Class of 97) and Amy Magoteaux and has two siblings; sister Sophia and brother Jared, a member of the Wittenberg Football Team.

Tayler Pierce, from Grandview Heights, Ohio, is a member of the National Honors Society and a member of the Presidents Education Awards Program. Tayler was named to the Academic All-League Ohio Division a total of 8 times across three different sports: Soccer, Basketball and Track and Field.

On the field for the Bobcats, Tayler was named to the Super 12 First team twice, First Team All-State, Second Team All-State, United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team, First Team All-League all four years, First Team Central District twice and is the All-Time Points Record Holder for the Girls Soccer program. Her Team went on to appear in 4 District Finals, winning it once and continuing on to win Regionals and make a Trip to the State Final Four.

Tayler is the daughter of Andy and Shannon Pierce and has a brother; Tristin.
