During her tenure Nancy Beck established Wittenberg's women's lacrosse program as a national contender, leading the Tigers to a first-ever NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in 1989.

Wittenberg went 12-4 in 1987 for the best record in school history and matched that win total in 1990. In 2001 she led the team to an 9-7 record, its best since 1996, and in 2003 she guided the Tigers to an 8-6 overall mark and a third-place finish in the NCAC. After the season she was named NCAC Coach of the Year for the first time in her career.

Beck coached numerous All-North Coast Athletic Conference players, including back-to-back conference Player of the Year selections Kati Robbins (2001) and Cara Romanowski (2002). In addition, Lolly Hart was named third-team All-America in 1992.

Beck came to Wittenberg after serving as the assistant women's lacrosse coach and head field hockey and swimming coach at the College of Notre Dame in Maryland.

The Baltimore, Md. native earned her bachelor's degree in physical education and health from Lynchburg College in 1978, where she played both varsity lacrosse and field hockey.

Beck earned her master's degree from Towson State University in 1984 with a concentration in physical education. She also served as an assistant to the Director of Intramurals, Recreation and Club Sports at Towson from 1982-84.

Beck, who resides in Springfield, has served as the National Chairperson for the Brine/IWCLA All-America Committee, and she most recently served on the IWLCA Executive Committee as secretary.
