Becca Joseph Resigns as Wittenberg Women's Lacrosse Head Coach
After four seasons as the head coach of Wittenberg University women's lacrosse, Becca Joseph, Wittenberg class of 2017, has announced her resignation to pursue other professional opportunities.
Joseph posted an overall record of 17-47 as the Tigers' head coach. Most recently, Wittenberg finished the 2025 campaign with a 4-11 mark.
"I have loved this opportunity to come back to my alma mater for another four years," Joseph said. "This school and program mean so much to me and being able to help guide it has been a joy. I feel so lucky to have worked with this group of girls, and it's something I will always cherish. I am excited to see how this program continues to grow, and I will stay the biggest WWL fan around! Tiger up forever!"
Joseph was named head coach of the program prior to the 2022 season after three years as an assistant coach at Ohio Northern University, where she helped lead the team to the first conference tournament appearance in program history. Joseph's first coaching experience was at Earlham College as an assistant coach for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. During her time at Earlham, Joseph was also the team coach for Indy United, a club organization in Indianapolis, Indiana. Joseph prepared the class of 2020 for recruiting tournaments and showcases while coaching them for summer tournament play.
Joseph was a record-breaking offensive player for the Tigers from 2014-17. Among her three All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) honors were first-team All-NCAC selections following her sophomore and junior seasons. She was also honored as an All-Great Lakes Region player in 2016 after scoring 51 goals and logging 36 assists. Joseph remains the program's career leader in points (328) and assists (138) and second with in goals (190). She also currently ranks first for season assists (52) and points (112).
At Wittenberg, Joseph double majored in sport management and business, concentrating in finance. She went on to receive a Master of Science in Sport Management from The Ohio State University while working as a graduate assistant in the Department of Athletics. Joseph, who also has professional experience as a sales associate with the Toledo Mud Hens, is a native of Toledo, Ohio, and a graduate of St. Ursula Academy, where she was a three-sport athlete in lacrosse, basketball, and soccer.
"We want to thank Becca for all of the time and energy that she has given to the Wittenberg Women's Lacrosse program," said Vice President and Director of Athletics and Recreation Brian Agler '80. "We will begin a search for the next leader of our program immediately. We have elite facilities, and we have good talent returning, so the building blocks are in place as we continue to build our program."
