Four Tigers Score in Loss to DePauw
Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned to Edwards-Maurer Field to take on the Tigers of DePauw in their sixth conference match-up of the year. Wittenberg put up a fight, scoring in three quarters of play but fell with a final score of 19-4.
The Red & White put their first point on the board at the end of the first quarter from Antavia Horne. Scoring first in the second quarter was Jessica Flick off of a free position shot. The Tigers final two goals came in the fourth quarter from Hannah Feder along with Grace Kennedy.
Wittenberg Leaders- Wittenberg had four different individuals score, including Jessica Flick, Grace Kennedy, Hannah Feder, and Antavia Horne. Horne led the Tigers in ground balls, picking up four on the day while Cecilia Critchfield caused two turnovers from DePauw. Katie Wadds led the Tigers in draw control possessions with five. Leading in goal was Gabrielle Weckerly with six saves after facing 17 shots on goal.
NCAC Leaders- Wittenberg has six individuals leading in the conference. Jessica Flick sits at number five for goals on the season with 47 and number eight for points with 52. Flick also stands at number two in the NCAC for free position success, going 18-36. Zoe Chirumbolo and Antavia Horne lead in draw controls with Horne at number six and Chirumbolo at number nine. A trio of Katie Wadds, Antavia Horne, and Grace Kennedy lead in ground balls with a combined 151 on the season, Wadds leads the pack with 61. Horne and Wadds sit in the top ten for caused turnovers with Wadds leading again with 38 on the season. For goalie statistics, Sidney Sheridan sits in the top five at number five for save percentage in the conference with 47.3%.
