Tigers Get Back on the Course at Stith Invitational
Richmond, VA - Wittenberg Women's Golf traveled to Virginia to compete in the Stith Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon at the Dominion Club. Many of the teams that the Tigers competed against were teams ranked in the top 40 of the latest Clippd rankings, with six of them being in the top 25.
New York University took first place overall, ending the third round at 15 over par, and NYU was the only team with a team round under par. Washington and Lee finished in second at 27 over par and Carnegie Mellon finished in third at 39 over par. The Tigers finished 13th out of 16 teams entered, finishing at 128 over par with rounds of 51-, 33-, and 44-over par.
Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Jerome) finished with the best score on the team at 25 over par with a first round 82, second round 78, and third round 81 while finishing with a total of six birdies over the three rounds. Right behind, finishing at 27 over par, was Anna Sinclair (Brownsburg, IN / Brownsburg), as she carded a first round 85, second round 78 and third and final round 80 and totaled three birdies. Rose Yancey (Westerville, OH / North) shot a 40 over par beginning with a first round 88, then a 80 in the second round and closed out the third round with an 88. The next Tiger finisher, at 49 over par, was Taylor Rausch (Mechanicsburg, OH / Mechanicsburg) with a first round score of 86, second round 96, and improved to shot a third round 83, including an eagle on the back nine. Izzy Selby (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) was right behind at 50 over par, carding a first round score of 86, second round 85, and finished the third round with a 95.
The Tigers take the course again on Monday, April 6 for day one of the Greenbriar Women's Intercollegiate Invitational, hosted by Southern Virginia University, in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
