Women's Golf Opens Season at Lynn Schweizer Invitational
Granville, OH - Wittenberg's women's golf team traveled to Granville to compete in the Lynn Schweizer Invatitional hosted by Denison. The Tigers finished ninth out of 13 teams with a total of 676 for a 96-over-par score. Randolph-Macon took first place on the weekend at 19-over-par with a total of 599.
The top finisher for the team was Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Jerome), who finished tied for 24th with a first round 79 (+6) and a second round 83 (+11) for a total of 162 (+18). Finishing next for the Tigers, in 34th, was Anna Sinclair (Brownsburg, IN / Brownsburg), carding a first round 83 (+10) and second round 84 (+12) to finish at 167 (+22). The next Wittenberg finisher was freshman Rose Yancey (Westerville, OH / North). She shot a first round 88 (+15) and improved for a second round 85 (+13) for 173 (+28) total strokes on the weekend and finish 47th. Senior Izzy Selby (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) shot a total 174 (+29) to be tied for 48th with a first round score of 86 (+13) and second round 88 (+16). The final scoring finisher for the Tigers was Josie Adamson (Cincinnati, OH / Oak Hills), who carded a first round 95 (+22) and second round 89 (+17) to have a total score of 184 (+39) to be tied for 60th.
The Tigers will be back on the course on September 12th and 13th as they travel to Tecumseh, MI to compete in the Irish Hills Invitational hosted by Adrian College.
