Tiger Women's Basketball Picked Third In NCAC Preseason Poll

SPRINGFIELD, OH — Wittenberg Women's Basketball was picked to finish third in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) in the 2024-25 Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released on Wednesday, October 30.
The Tigers received 48 points in the poll to finish behind Ohio Wesleyan, which received six of the possible eight first-place votes and a total of 62 points, and DePauw, which tallied two first-place votes and finished second with 51 points.
Wittenberg is led in 2024-25 by third-year Head Coach Melissa Kolbe, who has led the Tigers to back-to-back NCAC regular season championships in her first two seasons at her alma mater. The Tigers have three starters returning to the lineup in 2024-25, in addition to senior Riane Burton, who led the Tigers in scoring and rebounding off the bench a year ago, her first season at Wittenberg after transferring from the University of Cincinnati.
The Tigers open the 2024-25 season with a game at Ohio Northern that tips off at 7 p.m. Friday, November 8. The NCAC portion of the schedule begin with a home game against Kenyon at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 5.
