Three Tiger Women's Basketball Players Earn Academic All-District

SPRINGFIELD, OH — Three Wittenberg student-athletes, Karsen Karlblom (Crystal Lake, IL / Prairie Ridge), Karley Moore (Tipp City, OH/Bethel), and Kelsey Ragan (Whitehouse, OH/Anthony Wayne), were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Academic All-District Team for the 2024-25 season, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. To earn CSC Academic All-District distinction, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in class standing with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.50 while meeting athletic participation requirements.
In basketball, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. Selected Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot (noted by asterisk on release from CSC). First-, Second-, and Third-Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in April.
After two years at Hope College, Karlblom had a tremendous debut campaign at Wittenberg. A junior wing player who is majoring in sport management with a 3.92 grade point average, Karlblom started 27 of the Tigers' 28 games in the 2024-25 season, averaging 11.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, both of which ranked second on the team. She topped the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) in three-point shooting by a wide margin, both in terms of total treys converted (72) and three-point percentage (.493; 72-of-146). Karlblom capped her season with third-team All-NCAC honors.
A sophomore forward majoring in communication and digital media major with a 3.72 grade point average, Moore made three starts among her 28 appearances during the 2024-25 season, and she averaged 14.1 minutes per contest. She posted solid averages of 4.9 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
A senior guard majoring in environmental science with a 3.88 grade point average, Ragan appeared in 99 games in her Wittenberg career, including 93 starting assignments. In 2024-25, Ragan started all 28 games and averaged 6.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.
The Tigers ended the regular season in a three-way tie for third place in the conference. In the NCAC tournament, they defeated Oberlin in the quarterfinals, 60-42, then won a close game against the NCAC #1 seed, Ohio Wesleyan, 56-54, before losing a close game to DePauw in the conference championship, 46-44. The Tigers closed out the season with an overall record of 18-10.
