SPRINGFIELD, OH — Wittenberg's men's and women's cross country teams both earned All-Academic accolades from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2025 season, and Maddi Clark (Mentor, OH / Mentor) was also honored individually for her tremendous academic and athletic performance.
Under coaches Paris Hilliard and Chris Marco, the Tiger men earned All-Academic Team status with a cumulative GPA of 3.27 and the Tiger women claimed the same award with a phenomenal cumulative GPA of 3.82. To qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
For the second straight year, Clark earned All-Academic Athlete status after she turned in a tremendous 2025 season. Clark earned all-region honors for a second straight year after placing 17th in the 2025 Great Lakes Regional Championships, and she followed that with a strong run at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. The fifth runner in program history to qualify for the national championship meet, Clark crossed the finish line of the 6K race at the Roger Milliken Center in Converse, SC, in a time of 23:16.5, good for 164th place in a field of more than 290 runners.
Two weeks earlier, Clark earned first-team All-NCAC honors for a second straight season. She placed fifth in the 2024 race and seventh in the 2025 race.
To qualify for Academic All-American distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
