Wittenberg Men's Volleyball Italy Trip Recap

Wittenberg Men's Volleyball made the most of a team training trip to Italy in May 2025. Here are the highlights, as documented by Head Coach Jamie Peterson:

Sunday 5/18

• Travel Day

Monday 5/19

• ROME: visited Vatican City and explored St. Mark's Basilica

Tuesday 5/20

• ROME: Guided tour of the city, the Coliseum, and the Roman Forum
• Match #1 vs Nautilus Pallavolo (Won in 5 sets)

Wednesday 5/21

• MONTECATINI: Day trip to Lucca, bike tour of ancient city, cooking class
• "This was easily the best day of the entire trip. We learned to make pasta from scratch. It was at a vineyard!"

Thursday 5/22

• FLORENCE: Guided tour of the city
• Match #2 vs Pallovolo Firenze (lost all 4 sets); "This was by far the best team we played."

Friday 5/23

• CINQUE TERRE: Explored one of the 5 villages in Cinque Terre. Traveled by boat to get to the island.
• Spent the day enjoying the beach and shopping in local stores.

Saturday 5/24

• VENICE: Traveled by boat to Venice! Went on a guided walking tour of the floating city followed by gondola rides through the canals of Venice!

Sunday 5/25

• MILAN: Traveled to Milan for free time to explore the city. Many grabbed lunch and took advantage of shopping in the city.

Monday 5/26

• LAKE COMO: Travelled to Lake Como. Went on a private boat tour of the lake. Saw famous landmarks such as the villa that star wars was filmed in, George Clooney's vacation home and Lady Gaga's vacation home. Had some free time to explore Bellagio and grab lunch/shop
• Match #3 vs Pallavolo Sorrano (tied 2-2)

Tuesday 5/27

• Headed to the airport to come home!
