Wittenberg Track and Field and Cross Country Welcome Three New Assistant Coaches
SPRINGFIELD, OH - Wittenberg’s track & field and cross country programs recently added three new assistant coaches in Adam Fox, Kylee Mastin, and Morgan Adams to help Tiger student-athletes achieve their goals.
Fox coaches pole vaulters and combined events for Wittenberg Track & Field. A 2021 graduate of Muskingum University, Fox earned his BA in business management and marketing with a minor in accounting after transferring from West Virginia Wesleyan. During his time at both colleges, Fox competed on both the men’s soccer team and in track and field. He also spent time as an assistant track and field coach at Cambridge High School from March 2023 to March 2024, helping the head coach in planning and implementing practices and competition while working directly with athletes to improve their sprinting techniques, conditioning, and race strategies.
Mastin serves as an assistant for both cross country and track and field teams, helping mostly with distance and middle distance competitors. She is the most decorated cross country and track and field athlete of the history of Marshall University's program with six gold medals and the school’s record holder in five areas. The Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year in the Sun Belt Conference (SBC), Mastin is the record holder in the 800 (2:09.81), 1K (2:49.08), 1500 (4:19.49), mile (4:42.17), and 3K (9:21.31). As a graduate senior, she won the SBC championship with a personal-best and school-record 5K time of 17:06. It was the first time a female won the championship in Marshall’s 29-season history. In her 2024 season, Mastin was named SBC Female Runner of the Year and earned first-team All-SBC to become one of three female athletes all-time to win three all-conference awards. She also finished her cross country career with a 6K personal-best at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship, finishing 20th to earn all-region honors.
A graduate of Tecumseh High School in nearby New Carlisle, Ohio, Mastin earned her bachelor's degree and a master’s in nutrition and dietetics from Marshall.
Adams, an assistant director of admission at Wittenberg, joined the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for both the cross country and track and field teams. A graduate assistant in athletics facilities management at Wittenberg for two years before accepting a position in the Office of Admission, Adams was a member of the track and field and cross country teams at Bluffton University before graduating in 2023. He is a native of Dublin, Ohio.
