15 Tigers named Outdoor All-Great Lakes Region by USTFCCCA

SPRINGFIELD, OH — Fifteen Wittenberg student-athletes earned NCAA Division III All-Great Lakes Region honors in men's and women's outdoor track and field from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced on Thursday, May 20.
The top eight individuals in each event from each region on the year-end TFRRS Descending Order Lists earned all-region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top three relay teams. Eleven Wittenberg men's outdoor track and field student-athletes and four women's outdoor track and field student-athletes were honored with all-region accolades.
Leading the way for the Tigers is sophomore Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls), who finished the outdoor season ranked No. 1 in the region in both the 400-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. He is one of four Tigers to earn outdoor all-region honors in more than one individual event, joining sophomore Kory Davis (Brookville, OH / Brookville), who ranked first in the 110-meter hurdles and fifth in the 400-meter hurdles, junior Lukas Rieben (Clayton, OH / Northmont), who ranked first in both the 5000-meter run and 10000-meter run, and sophomore Cayla Eaton (North Lewisburg, OH / Triad), who ranked third in the high jump and third in the heptathlon.
Other Wittenberg men to earn individual outdoor all-region awards are:
- Graduate student Cameron Elliott (Springfield, OH / Springfield), sixth in the 400-meter dash;
- Junior Owen Bier (Elyria, OH / Midview), fourth in the 400-meter hurdles;
- Senior Riley Payne (Hamilton, OH / Trenton Edgewood), seventh in the 400-meter hurdles;
- Junior Nicolas Farfoglia (Manchester, MD / Manchester Valley), third in the decathlon;
- Freshman Matthew Keaton (Westerville, OH / North), seventh in the pole vault;
- Freshman Antonio Weaver (Columbus, OH / Independence), fifth in the long jump;
- Sophomore Elijah Simmons (Jacksonville, FL / Groveport Madison (OH)), fourth in the 100-meter dash.
In addition, the men's 4x400-meter relay (Elliott, Bier, Davis, Kittle) ranked first and the 4x100-meter relay (freshman Toriano Johnson (Loveland, OH / Kings), Elliott, Kittle, Simmons) ranked fifth in the Great Lakes Region.
In addition to Eaton, the Wittenberg women to earn individual outdoor all-region awards are:
- Freshman Rebekah Case (Mansfield, OH / Lucas), sixth in the pole vault;
- Junior Story Laing (Granville, OH / Granville), eighth in the pole vault;
- Senior Abbey Danne (Johnstown, OH / Big Walnut), second in the 800-meter dash.
