Men's Track and Field Sets Three Records and Takes Second Place Overall
Springfield, OH - Wittenberg Men's and Women's Track and Field hosted a whopping 22 teams in the second home meet of the 2025-26 indoor season, the Steemer Showcase. The Tiger men were able to come away with an impressive second-place team finish, in the process breaking three school records, including the 4x200 meter relay, 60-meter hurdles, and 500 meters. The only team to finish higher than the Tigers' and their 66.75 points was the Cedarville Yellow Jackets with 109 points, as the Indianapolis Greyhounds took third with 50 points.
Cedarville and Indianapolis are both NCAA Division II scholarship programs.
The Tigers' first number one finish came in their first record-breaking performance of the day, as Cameron Elliott (Springfield, OH / Springfield), Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls), Toriano Johnson (Loveland, OH / Kings) and Elijah Simmons (Jacksonville, FL / Groveport Madison (OH)) finished the 4x200-meter relay in a time of 1:27.45. The Tigers broke another record in the 60-meter hurdles as sophomore Kory Davis (Brookville, OH / Brookville) took second place in a time of 8.19 seconds. The other first-place finish and the third record broken on the day was in the 500-meter dash, as Elliott finished in a time of 1:04.47.

- Adam Veotte (Cincinnati, OH / Sycamore) took third in the 500-meter dash in a time of 1:08.38.
- Mason Duncan (Cardington, OH / Highland) finished fourth in the 500-meter dash in 1:08.93.
- Antonio Weaver (Columbus, OH / Independence) jumped to third in the long jump with a leap of 6.93 meters.
- Neal Godfrey (Columbus, OH / St. Francis DeSales) finished fifth in the long jump with a distance of 8.96 meters.
- Matthew Keaton (Westerville, OH / North) tied for second in pole vault with a height of 4.56 meters.
Next up, the Tigers will travel to Huntington, West Virginia, to compete in the Marshall University Jewel City Invitational on Friday, February 6, and Saturday, February 7.
