Men Picked First, Women Second In NCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships

CLEVELAND, OH – The Wittenberg Track and Field teams are among the favorites in the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Pre-Outdoor Championships Coaches Poll released Monday, April 21. Wittenberg's men are picked to finish first after taking the top spot at the 2025 NCAC Indoor Championships, while the Tiger women are picked to finish second.
In the men's poll, Wittenberg was picked to finish first with eight first-place votes and 80 total points, followed by Wabash in second with 67 points, and Denison with 66 points and one first-place vote. In the women's poll, DePauw claimed the top spot with seven first-place votes and 63 total points after winning the 2024 NCAC Cross Country and 2025 NCAC Indoor Track titles. Wittenberg, which won the NCAC Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track team titles in both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, was picked to finish second with one first-place vote and 55 points, with Ohio Wesleyan rounding out the top three with 50 points.
The championships are scheduled to take place Friday-Saturday, May 2-3, at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, after the combined events (heptathlon and pentathlon) take place Saturday-Sunday, April 26-27, at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio.
The Tigers have had an outstanding 2024-25 outdoor season, with numerous school records broken for both the men and women. Heading into the championships, Wittenberg's men are ranked seventh out of 42 teams in the Great Lakes Region, and the Tigers have ranked in the top 25 nationally throughout the season as well.
