Jack Kittle Earns NCAA Outdoor Championships Berth
SPRINGFIELD, OH - Wittenberg Track and Field will conclude the 2024-25 season with a trip for freshman sprinter Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls) to the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships May 20-23 at SPIRE Institute's Outdoor Track & Field facility in Geneva, Ohio.
After ranking in the top 50 nationally in the 400 meters during the indoor season but missing out on a berth in the national event, Kittle qualified for the Outdoor Championships in two events. The North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Newcomer of the Year at both the Indoor and Outdoor Championship meets, Kittle ranks second in the Great Lakes Region and 14th nationally in the 200 meters with a time of 21.10 recorded at the Otterbein Invitational on April 18. He ranks third in the region and 14th nationally in the 400 meters in a time of 47.11 at the Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier at Augustana on May 14.
"I am extremely excited for Jack," said Wittenberg Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Paris Hilliard. "He's had a tremendous freshman year and has had a major impact on our program. I'm looking forward to watching his hard work pay off at the NCAA Championships."
While Kittle is only Tiger track and field student-athlete to qualify for the Outdoor Championships, he is among five Tiger men who ranked in the top 50 nationally during the outdoor season. Senior Cameron Elliott (Springfield, OH / Springfield) ran a time of 47.41 in the 400 meters at the Emory Spring Break Classic on March 21 to rank 27th, senior Conor Kolka (Dexter, MI / Dexter) ranked 34th in the 10,000 meters with a time of 30:14.5 at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite, junior Riley Payne (Hamilton, OH / Trenton Edgewood) ranked 48th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.63 at the NCAC Championships, and senior Justin Norris (Middletown, OH / Middletown Christian) recorded a mark of 2.02 meters in the high jump to rank 30th.
For Wittenberg's women, senior Meghan Frazier (Alliance, OH / Alliance) just missed out on qualifying for the Outdoor Championships after earning a berth in the Indoor Championships in both 2024 and 2025. Frazier ranked 37th on the performance list in the 400 meters with a time of 55.82 recorded at the Harrison Dillard Twilight at Baldwin Wallace on May 8. Also ranked in the top-50 nationally but missing out on the NCAA Championships was freshman Izzy Henderson (East Liberty, OH / Benjamin Logan), who had a mark of 5.66 meters in the long jump to rank 45th nationally.
Rounding things out, the women's 4x100-meter relay ranked 40th nationally with a time of 47.18. Frazier and Henderson were joined on the 4x100-meter relay by senior Zora Shakhan (Pickerington, OH / Pickerington Central) and senior Lindsey Magoteaux (Sidney, OH / Lehman Catholic).
