Women Take Second and Men Third at NCAC Championships
Greencastle, IN - After the final day of the 2025 NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship at DePauw, Wittenberg's women took second place, totaling 171 points. Wittenberg's men took third place with 130.5 points. On top of podium finishes for both teams, multiple athletes broke both Wittenberg and NCAC records throughout the two-day event as well.
Picked to win the men's team title after taking first place at the Indoor Championships, Wittenberg finished behind Wabash, which won its 11th NCAC Outdoor team title with 172.5 points, and Denison, which accumulated 137.5 points. In the women's competition, the Tigers were picked to finish second - matching their performance at the Indoor Championships - and that's where they landed, behind only host DePauw with 235 points. Ohio Wesleyan took third place with 125 points.
The women's team started off strong on Day 2 in the 100-meter dash as Meghan Frazier (Alliance, OH / Alliance) took first in a time of 12.02 to add 10 team points, while Zora Shakhan (Pickerington, OH / Pickerington Central) added four points with a fifth-place finish in 12.42, and Lindsey Magoteaux (Sidney, OH / Lehman Catholic) finished seventh in 12.50 to add another two points. In the 200-meter dash Frazier added another eight points by finishing second with a time of 24.72 and Izzy Henderson (East Liberty, OH / Benjamin Logan) finished fourth for five more points in 25.37. Magoteaux recorded another seventh-place finish for another two points with a time of 25.93. Later, in the 400-meter dash, Abbey Danne (Johnstown, OH / Big Walnut) took second in 59.20 for eight points and Bre Glover (Columbus, OH / Groveport Madison) finished in 1:00.70 for fifth and four points.
On to the distance events, Wittenberg had the seventh place finisher in the 5000 meters as Maddi Clark (Mentor, OH / Mentor) added two points with a time of 18:19.30 and Megan Keys (Dublin, OH / Jerome) added an additional point by finishing eighth in 18:22. Henderson finished in fifth to add another four points in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.97, while Cayla Eaton (North Lewisburg, OH / Triad) took eighth for another point with a time of 15.65. The Tigers got another first-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay, as the team of Shakhan, Magoteaux, Frazier and Henderson finished in 47.19 for another 10 points. Another eight points were added as the 4x400 meter relay team of Danne, Glover, Frazier and Tymeerah De'Armond (Springfield, OH / Springfield) finished second in 3:56.28.
Finally, in the field events, the Wittenberg women dominated the high jump as they added a total of 27.5 points as Taylor Weiss (Powell, OH / Olentangy Liberty) took first, Julissa Williams (Lorain, OH / Lorain) took second, Eaton took third, Henderson took sixth, and Lainee Valentine (Marion, OH / River Valley) finished eighth. When it came to triple jump, Williams had another good finish with a leap of 10.87 meters and Reese Neumeyer (Whitehouse, OH / Anthony Wayne) took sixth with 10.35 meters for three points. The events ended with the javelin throw, where Ziciah Gibson (Cambridge, OH / Cambridge) finished fourth with a toss of 35.94 meters to add another five points to the Tigers' total.
The men got off to a good start as Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls) took first in the 200-meter dash for 10 points in 21.11 and Elijah Simmons (Jacksonville, FL / Groveport) took third in 21.54 seconds for six points. Kittle also took first in the 400-meter dash for another 10 points in a time of 47.45. Conor Kolka (Dexter, MI / Dexter) added eight more points as he ran the 5000 meters in 14:56.04 to claim second place. Another five points were added by Riley Payne (Hamilton, OH / Trenton Edgewood) as he recorded a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.82. In the 400-meter hurdles, Owen Bier (Elyria, OH / Midview) finished in 55.83, which was good for fifth place and four additional points. The 4x100 meter relay team of Kittle, Simmons, Mataio Robinson (Dayton, OH / Meadowdale) and Neal Godfrey (Columbus, OH / St. Francis DeSales) grabbed fifth in 42.17 for another four points to the Tigers' total. In the 4x400 meter relay the Tiger team of Bier, Kittle, Dashawn Seye (Centerville, OH / Centerville) and Mason Duncan (Cardington, OH / Highland) logged another first place finish and 10 points with a time of 3:18.47. Justin Norris (Middletown, OH / Middletown Christian) had another good day on high jump, finishing second with a leap of 1.95 meters to earn the team eight points. Troy Crosby (Clayton, OH / Northmont) had another first-place finish in the discus throw, where he had a toss of 46.14 meters to add 10 points for the Tigers.
Special Award-Winners
- NCAC Women's Outdoor Sprint/Hurdles Athlete of the Year: Meghan Frazier
Frazier earned the award after finishing the 2025 Championships with four All-NCAC honors, including three first-place and one second-place finishes. Frazier won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.02 seconds and was runner up in the 200-meter dash after finishing in 24.72 seconds. She was also the anchor on the victorious 4x400 meter relay squad (3:58.28) and was the third leg of the Tiger's winning 4x100 meter relay that finished in 47.19 seconds to set a new NCAC and facility record. - NCAC Women's Outdoor Newcomer of the Year: Izzy Henderson, Wittenberg
Henderson earned the 2025 Newcomer of the Year award after she placed first in the long jump (5.66 meters) and was a member of the winning 4x100 meter relay that set a new NCAC and facility record (47.19). She also placed fifth in both the 100-meter hurdles (14.97) and the 200-meter dash (25.37), as well as finished sixth in the high jump (1.48). - Men's Sprint/Hurdles & Newcomer of the Year: Jack Kittle, Wittenberg
Kittle claimed the double honor after earning victories in the 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, and the 4x100-meter relay. Kittle finished with times of 21.11 seconds, 47.45 seconds, and 42.17 seconds, respectively. In both the 200 and 400, the first-year broke the NCAC record with his efforts. He was also on the 4x400 meter relay squad that finished fifth with a time of 3:18.47.
School Records
- Frazier broke the 100-meter school record with a time of 12.02 seconds.

- Frazier's 100-meter school record of 12.02 seconds also broke the conference record.
- The women's 4x100 team's school record of 47.19 second broke the NCAC record as well.
Some track and field athletes will continue to compete on Friday, May 9th at the Harrison Dillard Twilight meet hosted by Baldwin Wallace.
