Springfield, OH - The Wittenberg University men's and women's tennis team picked up wins against IU-East on Saturday afternoon. The match was played by a one point for winning two out of three doubles courts, as the men's team took down the Red Wolves by a final decision of 5-2. The Wittenberg women's tennis team took down IU-East, taking all three doubles courts on their way to a 6-1 win.
The doubles pairings of Paige Meyers and Harunya Ravindran took their first court win by a final score of 6-2. Kathleen McGuff and Claire Stechow locked down the doubles court point for the Tigers with a 6-2 win over the Red Wolves on the second court. Meyers, Ravindran, Stechow and McGuff each won their singles matches. Hannah Bowman would add a final Tiger win on the day in the sixth singles spot, with a [6-2, 6-2] win over her opponent.
The Wittenberg men's team picked up the early point, as the duo of John Devito and Michael Hall earned the 6-2 win. The pairing of Gavin Tay and Joe Patton sealed the Wittenberg doubles court point with a 6-2 win over their opponents from IU-East. Tay, Patton and Devito all earned matches on their singles courts, along with Timmy McNulty taking a win in straight sets.
