Tiger Tennis Teams Host Free Youth Clinic
Wittenberg's men's and women's tennis student-athletes partnered with National Trail Parks and Recreation to host a free clinic on April 9.
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Wittenberg University's men's and women's tennis teams partnered with National Trail Parks and Recreation District in Springfield to host a free clinic for children in grades three through five on Wednesday, April 9, at the David and Georgiana Albright Tennis Complex.
A total of 25 youngsters took part in the clinic, which is part of the local parks district's grant-funded Get Up and Go program. Members of the Tiger teams taught fundamentals of the sport of tennis, including forehands, backhands, volleys and footwork drills.
"We are thankful to Coach Stuckey and the Wittenberg men's and women's tennis teams for taking time out to teach kids tennis," said program director Penny Dunbar. "We encourage the kids in the program to be active and play tennis because it is a sport they can play for their entire life."
