Men’s, Women’s Swimming & Diving earn CSCAA Scholar All-America honors for Spring 2024 semester

SPRINGFIELD — The Wittenberg men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2024 semester.
To qualify for this prestigious recognition, teams had to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during the Spring 2024 semester. Under head coach Samantha Benedict, the Wittenberg women's team boasted a cumulative GPA of 3.88, while the men's team posted a GPA of 3.22 during the Spring 2024 semester.
Wittenberg's men's and women's teams were among 722 teams from 417 institutions representing 17,162 student-athletes to earn the recognition. Of the selected teams, 563 achieved a GPA of 3.30 or above.
"The commitment to academic excellence shown by these teams is truly admirable," said Samantha Berry, executive director of the CSCAA. "It's inspiring to see student-athletes excelling both in the pool and in their studies. The CSCAA takes great pride in acknowledging and celebrating the dedication and perseverance of these teams."
The Wittenberg men's and women's swimming and diving teams also earned CSCAA Scholar All-America Team recognition for the Fall 2023 semester with cumulative GPAs of 3.22 and 3.59, respectively.
