Donahue Earns First-Team All-NCAC Men's Soccer Honors
CLEVELAND, OH - Sophomore forward Asher Donahue (Muncie, IN / Burris Laboratory School) was the lone member of Wittenberg’s Men’s Soccer team to earn a postseason award from the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). He was named first-team All-NCAC.
Donahue, in only his sophomore season, led Wittenberg and the NCAC this season with 11 goals and 24 points. He also led the Tigers in shots with 37 and shots on goal, 27. Three of his goals in the season were game-winners.
The Tigers finished 7-4-7 overall this season and 0-4-4 in the NCAC to finish ninth. Wittenberg scored 35 goals in 18 games on the season. As a team, the Tigers tallied 268 shots, 125 on goal, 20 assists, 74 corner kicks, and went two for two in penalty shots. Defensively, the Tigers finished with seven shutouts.
This season, Wooster's Elliot Miller was named Offensive Player of the Year and Wooster also acheived Coaching Staff of the Year. Denison had the Midfielder of the Year, Kameron Kist, and the Defensive Player of the Year, Henri Hayes. Newcomer of the Year went to Kenyon's Jack Commandeur to round out the player and coaching staff of the year awards.
