Springfield, OH - Wittenberg Men's Soccer added another statement win, shutting out Alma, 4-0, at Edwards-Maurer Field on Saturday, Sept. 20.
The Tigers did not waste much time finding the back of the net, striking twice in the first half before adding two more goals after the break to lock in another shutout this season. Through seven games, Wittenberg has outscored its opponents, 15-2, while recording five shutouts.
Wittenberg controlled the tempo throughout, outshooting Alma heavily while keeping pressure on both ends of the field. The Tigers had nine shots in the first half, while Alma only had three. The Tigers shot 12 more times on goal in the second half, while Alma only attempted once.
A key first-half breakthrough came from Asher Donahue (Muncie, IN / Burris Laboratory School), assisted by Collin LaVeck (Carroll, OH / Bloom-Carroll). Witt's next goal happened 20 minutes later on a boot by Cameron Corey (Lancaster, OH / Amanda-Clearcreek).
