SPRINGFIELD, OH - Wittenberg men's soccer ended their fifth match of the season with a draw against Otterbein at home on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
The match ended in a tie after the Tigers struck first when Brendon Raggiunti (Brampton, Ontario / Notre Dame Catholic Secondary) found the back of the net off an assist from Ever Zepeda (Los Angeles, CA / New Designs Charter) at the 39:50 mark in the first half, giving the Tigers a 1-0 advantage. Wittenberg controlled the first half offensively, outshooting Otterbein 8-2.
The Cardinals did not retaliate until the second half at the 46:34 mark to even the game, 1-1. The second half was more defense-heavy by the Tigers, as Otterbein managed four shots while Wittenberg tallied just one.
Despite both teams battling it out, neither could secure a game-winner. With the draw, the Tigers go to 3-0-2 on this season, while Otterbein goes to 1-1-2.
