SPRINGFIELD, OH — Wittenberg sophomore Mikey Schutte (Cincinnati, OH / Elder) has been named to the 2026 NCAA Division III PING All-Region V Team, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced on Sunday, May 10.
Schutte is one of 15 All-Region V selections for the 2026 season. He is one of four golfers representing North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) teams to earn all-region honors, as he is joined by two Kenyon golfers and one from John Carroll.
The all-region award is the latest earned by Schutte in a tremendous second year of intercollegiate competition. He recorded three top-10 finishes during the 2025-26 season, capped by a seventh-place finish in the NCAC Championships. His performance in the league's championship competition led the way for the Tigers to finish a strong second in the final team standings. He posted a three-round total of 10-over-par 226 (79-74-73).
Wittenberg was not selected as an at-large team to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships, but Schutte was the last of 10 individual golfers selected to play in the season's final event. He heads to the national tournament, hosted this year by Oglethorpe University at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, May 12-15, ranked third in the NCAC, 10th in Region V, and No. 60 in all of Division III in scoring average.
As a team, Wittenberg saw its streak of four straight NCAA Division III Tournament appearances come to an end with the second-place finish in the NCAC Championships. Wittenberg's appearance in the 2025 national event was the 30th in program history in 2025. The 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Champion, Wittenberg finished 16th in the event, which took place at Midvale Country Club in Penfield, NY.
