Men Picked Second, Women Third in 2025 NCAC Pre-Championship Poll

The Wittenberg men's golf team was picked to finish second in the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships, while the Tiger women were picked third, based on balloting by the league's head coaches.
Wittenberg received one first-place votes and 56 points in the NCAC Men's Golf Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll. Kenyon was picked to win the league title, receiving the remaining seven first-place votes and 63 points. DePauw was third with 44 points.
Wittenberg received 24 points in the NCAC Women's Golf Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll. Denison was selected as the favorite with all six first-place votes and 36 total points. DePauw was picked second with 30 points.
Under the direction of head coach David Wetterich, both Wittenberg squads have enjoyed another outstanding year in 2024-25. The NCAC Championships are scheduled for Friday-Sunday, May 2-4, at Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, Indiana. Hosted by Wabash, the championship tournament consists of 54 holes over the three days with one round of 18 holes being played each day. Friday's action starts at 8:30 a.m. with the men teeing off on hole one and the women teeing off on hole 10. Otter Creek is a par-72 layout, with the men scheduled to utilize the blue tees and the women playing from the red tees.
The Tiger men, ranked 35th in the latest Scoreboard rankings, head into the NCAC Championships with three tournament victories on the season, including the Ted Barclay Invitational, hosted by Denison at Denison Golf Club, on August 31-September 1, the Jeff Roope Invitational, hosted by Wittenberg at Springfield Country Club, on October 20-21, and the Win Palmer Cup, hosted by Wittenberg at Allegheny Country Club, on April 14-15. The Tigers are led in scoring average by Mitch Bolte (Newark, OH / Newark), a freshman who ranks in the top 100 nationally, while Mark Sulek (Delaware, OH / Hayes) and Jake Yarbrough (Dublin, OH, Jerome) rank in the top 300 in all of NCAA Division III.
The Tiger men are seeking the 13th conference title in program history. The Tiger women are seeking the fourth conference title in program history and first since winning three straight from 2015 to 2017. Kenyon's men and Denison's women are the defending conference champions.
The Wittenberg women have won one tournaments this season, placing first at the Eva Shorb Weiskopf Memorial Invitational, hosted by the College of Wooster at Wooster Country Club, on April 7-8. The Tigers are coming off a fifth-place finish at the Win Palmer Cup, hosted by Wittenberg at Allegheny Country Club, on April 14-15. Izzy Selby (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton), Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Jerome), and Hillary Humbaugh (Haubstadt, Ind./Gibson Southern) leads the Tigers this season with scoring averages tightly packed between 83 and 84 strokes per round.
