Golf Places Tenth at Capital City Classic
PRATTVILLE, AL - Wittenberg Men's Golf traveled to Alabama to compete in the Capital City Classic before hosting their own tournment in Pennsylvania. After two rounds played on an historic Robert Trent Jones golf course, the Tigers finished 10th in an outstanding field of 18 teams, shooting a first round 298 and second round 297 for a total of 595 to finish 19 over par.
The best individual finish for the Tigers came from Mitch Bolte (Newark, OH / Newark) by shooting a 73 in both the first and second round to finish tied for 17th overall in a field of 90 players with a two-over-par 146. Caleb Domitrovich (McDonald, OH / McDonald) and Joshua Wright (Wadsworth, OH / Akron Hoban) were next up for Wittenberg as both finished tied for 42nd with matching two-day totals of 150 (6 over par). Domitrovich shot an 80 in the first round and a 70 in the second, while Wright carded a 75 in both rounds.
Rounding things out for the Tigers, Mark Sulek (Delaware, OH / Hayes) was the team's fourth finisher as he shot a first-round 74 and a second-round 80 for a total of 154 to finish at 10 over par, which tied for 57th. Finishing the two rounds tied for 61st was Ryan Miller (Dublin, OH / Jerome) as he shot a first round 76 and second round 79 to complete the tournament with a total of 155 to be 11 over par.
The Tigers will return to action on Monday and Tuesday, April 14th and 15th, as they host the Win Palmer Cup in Sewickley, Pennsylvania.
