NCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll Tabs Tigers as Fifth
Cleveland, OH - Wittenberg Field Hockey was picked to finish fifth in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) in the 2025 Preseason Coaches’ Poll, which was released on Thursday.
The Tigers received 62 total points in the poll to rank fifth out of 10 teams. Defending regular-season conference champion Ohio Wesleyan was picked as the favorite for 2025 with five first-place votes and 94 total points. Denison finished close behind in second with four first-place votes and 93 points. DePauw was third with the last remaining first-place vote and 79 points. Kenyon was fourth with 69 points and the Tigers rounded out the top five with 62.
Wittenberg finished 11-3 overall and placed third in the NCAC with an 8-2 mark in 2024 to make the NCAC Tournament for the first time in six years.
Led by second-year head coach Brighid Kortyna, the Tigers open their 2025 season on Aug. 30 at home against Rhodes. They will begin conference play on Sept. 10 against Denison at home.
