Dwyer Selected For Annual Division III Field Hockey Senior Game

Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University field hockey standout Elizabeth Dwyer, class of 2012from St. Louis, Mo., has been selected to participate in the prestigious National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Senior Game scheduled for 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, on the campus of Nichols College in Dudley, Mass.

Dwyer is one of 57 players chosen to participate in the 2011 game. She becomes the eighth Tiger student-athlete selected to play in the annual competition since 1990.

Dwyer led the Tigers offensively in 2011 with 17 goals, two of which were game-winners. She added five assists, the second-highest total on the team, to finish with a team-high 39 total points. Dwyer finished the regular season ranked second in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) in goals and total points.

For her three-year career in the Red & White, Dwyer finished with 45 goals to rank fifth in program history. She added 16 career assists to become just the fifth Tiger ever to amass more than 100 career points. Dwyer was a first-team All-NCAC honoree in 2009 and a second-team selection in 2010 (the 2011 team has not yet been announced).

Wittenberg concluded the 2011 season with records of 9-9 overall and 7-6 in the NCAC after bowing out of the NCAC Tournament with a 2-0 semifinal loss to regular season champion Denison. Dwyer was a key member of Wittenberg's 2010 team that earned a conference-record 10th NCAC title with a program-best 11 wins. Wittenberg posted records of 36-19 overall and 28-9 in the NCAC during Dwyer's collegiate career.
