Bio
Zane Grove joined Wittenberg's football coaching staff in March 2026. He returned to his alma mater after three seasons on the football coaching staff at North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) rival, The College of Wooster. Grove served as the Fighting Scots’ special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach and was involved with recruiting after previously coaching the team's linebackers.
Grove arrived in Wooster following a three-year stint at Case Western Reserve University, where he served as outside linebackers coach. While with the Spartans, Grove was part of the 2019 Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship team that appeared in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Grove’s coaching career started at Wittenberg University, where he was a football operations intern and student assistant football coach while finishing up his degree in 2017. That year, he helped the Tigers to an undefeated regular season record and a NCAA Division III Tournament berth. After leaving Wittenberg, Grove went to the University of Minnesota Morris where he coached defensive backs for one season, in addition to working closely with the special teams units.
As a player, Grove helped Wittenberg to a 37-8 record from 2013-16. He was part of three conference championship teams and played cornerback. Grove graduated from Wittenberg with a bachelor’s degree in business management in 2017.
