Springfield, Ohio — For the first time since 2003, Wittenberg University football can be heard locally on the AM radio dial. Wittenberg has entered into a partnership with WIZE 1340-AM to extend the Tiger Sports Network onto local commercial radio airwaves during the 2011 football season.
Coming off back-to-back undefeated regular seasons and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) championships, the Tigers are poised to become just the 19th NCAA football program to reach 700 all-time victories and the first Division III program to do so. With 699 wins since the first recorded game in 1892, Wittenberg opens the 2011 season at home against long-time rival Capital at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3.
All of the action can be heard locally on Wittenberg's student-run radio station WUSO 89.1-FM and WIZE 1340-AM, in addition to around the world via the university's website. Dave Williams will be handling the play-by-play duties for the opener, and he will be joined by Jim Scoby as his color commentator.

Scott Leo, WUSO advisor and the Voice of the Tigers for football and men's basketball in recent years, will handle play-by-play after the Columbus Clippers, the AAA minor league baseball affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, conclude their 2011 season. Leo also serves as the play-by-play voice of the Clippers.
The Tiger Sports Network will also provide radio broadcasts for all men's and women's basketball games again during the 2011-12 school year. The Tiger basketball teams can be heard locally on WUSO 89.1-FM and throughout the world via the Wittenberg website. In addition, student broadcasters will provide audio coverage of all home games for the Tiger men's and women's soccer, volleyball, field hockey, baseball, softball, and men's and women's lacrosse home games. Every broadcast will be available online, with selected games also available on WUSO 89.1-FM.
The Tiger Sports Network also extends to live online video coverage again in 2011-12. All home games played in Pam Evans Smith Arena or at Edwards-Maurer Field can be seen live on the Internet via the aforementioned link.
