Senior Selected To Play in Aztec Bowl

Senior defensive back Jason Jackson (Columbus, Ohio/South) was selected to participate in the Aztec Bowl in Saltillo, Mexico. A three-timeAll-North Coast Athletic Conference selection and a four-year letterwinner for the Tigers, Jackson will play for a United States NCAA Division III All-Star team against the Mexican National Team. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Saturday, Dec. 15. The game can beheard via webcast by logging onto the American Football Coaches Association Web site (www.afca.com), Texas Sports Radio Network (www.tsrnsports.com)or www.d3football.com. Three one-hour preview shows will be broadcast on Dec. 12, 13 and 14. |
Jackson was outstanding in 2001, coming back from a groin injury suffered in the preseason to record 24.5 tackles, two interceptions that were returned 99 yards and 10 passes defensed. For his career, Jackson returned 25 kickoffs for 766 yards, and recorded 76 total tackles, five interceptions, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
He was part of a senior class that went 39-1 in regular season games and 45-5 overall, including a perfect 28-0 in winning four straight NCACtitles.
