Baseball Picked Second in NCAC Preseason Coaches Poll

CLEVELAND, OH — The Wittenberg baseball team was picked to finish second in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) in the 2026 Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released Tuesday, Feb. 10.
The Tigers received one first-place vote and 64 total points. Denison, the defending conference champion, was picked as the conference favorite with seven first-place votes and 80 total points. Wabash was picked third with 60 points and Wooster received the last first place vote and totaled 57 points.
Wittenberg finished 29-12 overall and finished third in the NCAC with a 11-4 mark in 2025. The Tigers finished third in the 2025 NCAC Tournament in Chillicothe.
Led by head coach Mitchell Griffiths, the Tigers are scheduled to open their 2026 season with a three games Feb. 21-22 against Kalamazoo, Carroll and Berea at Berea College. The Tigers' home opener is March 20 as they take on Hope at 6 p.m. before a doubleheader against Hope on the 21st, beginning at 12 p.m. Wittenberg will open conference play on March 28, hosting DePauw for a doubleheader with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
